PART 3) "ORB" • Dead bird • 7 days later
Suddenly this is beginning to "really" be "Un-really"... As a "Patrol Driver" sometimes I am called on to "stand in" on a post when somebody calls off or does not show up for work, typically it is just for a couple of hours until the office can find someone to replace that person for the day... on October 29th at approx. 05:00 am while doing my normal patrols, which consist of driving around in a company vehicle patrolling our various job sites, I received a call over the radio from my dispatcher to go and do just that, except that this detail was gonna be for the whole day (a full 8 hour shift... and I want to note here that on this day "a Sunday", the entire site would be closed, there was nobody on the entire site... EXCEPT ME). I arrived at that post at about 05:50 am, I relieved the person who was ending their shift 06:00 am., and assumed the duties of the post. At 06:20 am I did my first "foot patrol" on the post as the job site requires to be done every hour (doesn't matter what time in the hour, as long as it is done within the hour of each hour of the shift). On my foot patrol I don't remember seeing this dead pigeon (pictured here) when I first walked the perimeter of the post. I may be mistaken, but I don't think I would have missed it twice (once going, and once coming back) and I walked all the way around the building, from the front gate, to the rear gate all the way around the building and back. At that time in the morning (here in California) it was still a little dark outside... on my second foot patrol (at some time in the 7 o'clock hour, closer to 08:00) I discovered this "dead-bird" in the middle of the road (the road you take to patrol this site on foot when the site is closed like it was on this day)... but this is a big bird, and I must tell you, I don't think I would have missed this big bird lying in the road like that, I don't care what time of day or night it is... THIS IS A "BIG BIRD"..! Anyway, about another hour later (at approx. 09:08 am) out of curiosity I went back and examined this bird carefully... and here is what I found interesting about this "dead Pigeon" that has suddenly appeared in the middle of the road out of nowhere... 1st of all, I discovered that it WASN'T a pigeon at all, and as to what kind of bird it actually is... seriously... l don't have a clue. 2nd... there where NO FLUIDS on the ground, if it had died and fell from the sky, at least some fluid would have leaked out of its mouth and nostrils, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING, not even a drop. PLUS there would have been CRASH MARKS on the ground, there was noting... no displaced feathers, no bounce marks, and also nothing that would indicate that an animal may have dragged or carried it there... clearly this bird had been PLACED THERE... the question is... by who... or what?. 3rdly... Earlier, and this is what frightened me, there where Ants on the bird when I first discovered it around 8 o'clock-ish... but now the Ants (most of them) where gone, THEY'RE NOT TOUCHING IT... and neither did I, listen, I'm telling you... this is not good!!!
